Thursday,
November 30, 2006 - After an emergency
combined session of the HBPC (Harry Banquet Planning
Committee) and GB (Governing Board), there has
been an immediate revocation of all YH (Yo Har)
privileges and benefits of two members of the
greater Harry community. This matter was not taken
lightly, however decisive action was needed to
be taken after the illegal dissemination of copyrighted
forum content. In an unprecedented unanimous vote,
one Mr. Harry (John) Albany (Yo Bob) and one Ms.
Harriette (Sarah) Walters have been suspended
indefinitely. There will be an appeal session
held at Harrys' One Spot on a date when the emotional
status of the Harrys has stabilized after this
atrocious breach of trust. More information will
follow.
HARRYS'
LUNCH SPOT
Thursday,
November 30, 2006 -
Harriette (Beth) and Harry (Kevin)
along with little Harriettes Brynn and Riley had
a nice little lunch date at of all places, Harry's.
It was a nice little bar/restaurant type place
with the greatest name ever. A fun time was had
by all.
RIP
DEAR ALTIMA
Tuesday,
November 28, 2006 -
Deacon Betzal(a) presided over
a very somber Memorial Service for Dear Altima,
owned by none other than Harry and Harriette (Scott
and Beth McNeill). The firefighters from Aston-Beechwood
were able to get some good training in thanks
to the above mentioned Hars donation. Their Nissan
Altima kicked the bucket so we got to "tool
it" as we say in the biz. There's not much
left to her, we cut off the doors and roof, then
rolled the dashboard forward. Following drill
at the FH, we did what any self respecting Harry
would do, we went to Barnaby's to meet up with
Jimmy O. and toasted the Altima. Unfortunately,
Hars Scott and Beth didn't make it down to ABFC,
something about having to be parents or something.
Thanks guys, don't forget to get the title to
the FH. Additional info and pics available by

HQ
IN DISARRAY
Weekend,
November 25-26, 2006 -
Harry's (Jack) kitchen has come
and gone. Demolition started on his full kitchen
remodel. A wall got knocked down, two others were
cut back a few feet and all the cabinets are down.
The flooring is all ripped up and much progress
has been made. Check back for updates.
BIGGEST
BAR NIGHT OF THE YEAR, AND THE HARS WERE THERE
Wednesday
November 22, 2006 -
Tonight many Hars gathered at Harry HQ for pre-game
festivities before heading out to the Wharf and
Barnaby's
for Thanksgiving Eve. A special thanks to Harriette
(Jen Jones) and Hariette (Sarah) for all their
hard work making the turkey cupcakes out of fruit
roll-ups and nutter butters. Also a special welcome
to the Treude
twins for
making an appearance at a Har event! After the
pre-game the whole group headed to the Wharf.
Welcome to your first har event Kim Robinson!
After a couple of hours at the Wharf the Hars
headed over to their home away from home (in Aston...no
disrespect One Spot) Barnaby's. A fun night was
had by all and it was good to see T-Calkins and
Pickles out for the night! There was also a full
fledged Sammy
Iannucci sighting. CLICK
HERE or on any of these pictures for more
memories of the evening.
Harry
Hold Em Pt. II - The Hars gathered
once again for Texas Hold 'Em. This time it was
held at Harrys' One Spot. After 3 hours of intense
poker action Harry (Scott M.) took home the crown
defeating Harriette's (Tracy) mom. Harry (Adam
M.) took home the third place prize. Many other
Hars showed up for the regular Friday night opening
of Harrys' 1 Spot. A special welcome goes out
to many One Spot first timers including Cousin
Danny (Betzala) and his buddy Chuck, A-Town natives
John Eschbach and John Stritzinger, Bill Rigby,
and JP Micun's friend Kait. A shout out also goes
to Harry (John Carr) for buying all the pizza.
Thanks Har!! There was also a special Thursday
night opening of The One in honor of Allan and
Jay Hughes' first visit.
ANNUAL
HARRY BANQUET
Saturday
November 11, 2006 - Well another year
in Harrydom has passed and another Harry Banquet
has commemorated the occasion. On a beautiful
fall day the HBPC trekked out to Valley Twp. early
to get things ready for the 30+ Hars who were
on the way. Once everything was set up and ready
to go, the HBPC needed to de-stress so what better
way than to have an impromptu saucer Saturday.
Onto the delicious dinner and drinking and then
the awards presentation. A great big Harry Congratulations
goes out to Hars Adam and Tracy Micun for winning
Harry of the Year Award for 2006. Master of Ceremonies
Michael “Bubba’ Smith made certain
the evening flowed nicely and announced the winner
of the following awards: Harrymanship Award, Harry
Fellowship Award, Harry Comedic Value Award, Natty
Ice Award, O Jäger My Harry Jägermeister
Award, Harry Sexual Tension Award, Most Metro-Sexual
Harry, Harry Marriage Award, A-Town Award, Harry
Make Out Award, Commentary Award, 27 Penns Court
Award, T. Calkins Honorary "Harry Lost at
a Phils Game" Award and Honorary 2007 HBPC
Member Award. For a complete list of all of our
winners please see the forums. If any Harry would
like to contest the results of any award, please
consult with your legal counsel and have them
contact a member of the HBPC. Beyond that, you’ll
just have to get the story from any Har that attended
because words can’t quite explain all of
the events of this superb Harry event. Click on
the pic below for more banquet pictures. Check
out the new “Yo Har” charcoal gray
hoodies. Remember, these pictures have been edited
and the real fun pics will be shared weekly at
Harrys’ One Spot.

HARRY
HOLD 'EM
Friday,
November 3, 2006 - Tonight
a group of Hars gathered at Swiftwater Estates
(Harry McNeill's) in Brookhaven for some Texas
Hold 'Em. The Hars filled two full tables. A special
Harry appearance was made by Harry (Sprows). After
several hours of grueling poker Harriette (Tracy)
knocked Harry (Scott M.) out into third place
but she was later was ousted by her Aunt for the
title. After the poker tourney, the party moved
to Harrys' One Spot to slowly introduce Harry's
(Mark) brother into the Hars. He is moving back
to A-Town in December after a couple year hiatus.
The festivities broke up around 0330. See Harrys'
One Spot's myspace
page for
more pix! Good games hars!

HAPPY
HARROWEEN
Thursday
Oct. 26-Tuesday Oct. 31, 2006
-When the Hars celebrate a holiday,
they do it in proper fashion. Halloween 2006 brought
6 nights of Hars coming together. Thursday and
Friday nights had Hars hanging out at Harrys 1
Spot. Saturday the Hars attended the Keiser wedding
(no longer Keiserberger). Sunday was the big Halloween
Party at Barnaby's with our own Harriettes (Jen
and Angie) serving as guest bartenders (even if
it was only like 20 minutes each). Almost all
of the Hars in attendance had various costumes
on, none more funny than Harry's (Jack). He came
dressed as a playboy bunny and it won him 1st
place in Barnaby's costume contest. Props also
go out to Jim O'Brien who came dressed as Oscar
the Grouch. Many Hars got to meet Harriette Beth's
father, Rick for the first time. Rick flew in
from Cincinnati to hang with the Hars this Halloween.
We all look forward to the Yo Har Cincinnati Division
road trip in the future. The gang partied well
into the night. The "Yo Har" flag was
prominently displayed above the bar but then relocated
outside to the roof of the porch for all passersby
to see. Fun times at Barnaby's with the Hars as
usual. Thanks to all the staff at Barnaby's for
taking great care of us whenever we are there.
Monday night was the usual GB meeting at H1S.
Tuesday night (actual Halloween) saw Hars Mikell,
Jay and Kevin go to Barnaby's for yet another
party. The Hars had a great time with all the
other party goers. If I missed anything let
me know, the whole weekend is sort of a haze at
this point. -Kevin Click

HAPPYS'
ONE SPOT REPORT
October
31, 2006 -
Harrys 1 Spot, the official watering
hole of Yohar, Inc. is pleased to announce it
has placed into service its 2nd kegerator, that's
right we got two kegerators. The "1"
has also officially changed its slogan from "Open
Fridays" to "Closed Tuesdays" as
we have been open every night of the week except
Tuesday due to numerous Eagles games, World Series
games and Nascar. All profits from sales go toward
food to keep the Hars full. Over one weeks time,
the Hars went through 5-1/2 kegs. It began with
Caley's and Adam's party and continued for a full
week. The 'other' local bar hasn't consumed that
much in a week (its pretty hard to do when you
only have one kegerator too). H1S also put a new
flat screen TV up on the wall behind the bar.
H1S is quickly gaining popularity in the Delco
area bringing in new visitors each week. Elections
for the 2007 Governing Board of Harrys One Spot
will be held soon. You can check out Harrys on
myspace
here. Please stand-by,
technical difficulties uploading pictures....
A
VERY HARRY WEDDING
Saturday,
October 28, 2006 -
(AP) – In a dramatic, uncalculated, unexpected
move, Hars Mike and Sarah decided to get married
today. In an even more shocking move, 15 invited
Hars decided to rent a van so that not a single,
solitary moment of drinking time was wasted. The
Hars completed a 30 pack of Natty Light on the
way to church, watched a beautifully short ceremony
(Mike and Sarah also looked beautiful of course),
did the picture thing after church complete with
the Yo Har! flag and then it was time to pile
back into the van. This is when the poor planning
really sunk in…beer supply dangerously low!
After a quick stop at Lima Beverage, we were back
in business and on the way to the Towne House
for the tailgate. The Hars, as you well know,
tailgate harder than you party and open container
laws aside, we had a great, albeit short, tailgate
on the public streets of Media. Into the reception
the group went, cocktail hour was quite enjoyable,
Wheeler was three sheets upon arrival and several
others were feeling no pain as well. The Hars
definitely got the party going with the One Spot
theme, congo line, Thank God I’m a Country
Boy and several others. Before long we had some
new additions to Harrydom as witnessed in the
pictures. Harry (John Carr III) picked us up from
T.H. and the after party at HQ started…and
went until 5 am. So, pre-party started at 1:30
pm at HQ and went until 5 am at HQ, so 15.5 hours
of partying…correction…daylight savings
time ended last night…make that 16.5 hours
of partying. CONGRATULATIONS SARAH AND MIKE!
HARRIETTE
PICKLES REELS IN A WINNER (KIND OF)
Saturday,
October 21, 2006 -
Harriette (Pickles) Iannucci lead
Team Harry at a fishing tournament this weekend
in Rehoboth Beach DE. The Hars ended up catching
a striped bass that took 5th place...too bad they
only paid out to 3rd place. The bloody marys were
the real catch of the day though. Way to represent,
better luck next year Pickles.
YOHAR
KIDS GET FIRE SAFE
Wednesday,
October 18, 2006 - Believe
it or not, we don't just drink. The Hars who have
adult responsibilities brought their offspring
down to ABFC for some fire safety lessons in honor
of Fire Prevention Month. Harriette Melissa Piselli
organized her first Har event and it proved to
be a success. Harriette Katie also attended her
first Har event with her son. All of the kids
learned about stop, drop and roll, smoke detectors,
home escape and other important rules about fire
safety. They were also shown the back of a police
car in case they don't follow the rules they learned.
The highlight of the day wasn't the fire truck
rides, it was the Ofc. M. Jones trading cards
along with the rest of the ATPD cards. Harry Kevin
taught the class with back up from Past President/Deputy
Chief of ABFC Harry Adam M. serving as friendly
fireman. We hope this can become an annual event.
WHERE WAS JOE CARR? I hear he is an adult who
has responsibilities. -Sorry for the long delay
getting this post. -KC
ANGIE'S
SURPRISE BIRTHDAY GET TOGETHER
Saturday
October 14, 2006 -By:
J. Scott McNeil A
group of Hars gathered at the Olive Garden to
surprise Harriette Angie on her birthday. Harry
Matt and Harry Keiser seemed to have a wonderful
date together polishing off a bottle of wine.
After dinner the group met up with a few more
Hars at Firewaters in Glen Mills for a couple
of drinks. One Har in particular enjoyed too much
wine at the Olive Garden, so he napped in the
car at Firewaters. After an hour at Firewaters
the group moved to Barnaby's for drinks and dancing
(on the bar). The last of the Hars staggered out
pretty late. Good Games were had by all. Happy
Birthday Angela
MONTHLY
DINNER AT GENNARO'S
Thursday,
October 12, 2006 - The
Hars gathered for dinner, fun times and lots of
laughs tonight at Pickles dads place today. Pickles
was babysitting and could not join the Hars tonight.
Har Mary (Hason) Kenny was a last minute surprise
guest. Of course the fall from the fire truck
story, along with many other "ol' day"
stories came out with Mary's presence. Afterwards
Mary went home to little Ava and the rest of the
gang headed to the ONE SPOT for more fun times.
HARRY
GREETINGS FROM PSU
Thursday,
October 12, 2006 - Harry
(Franny) O'Brien sends greetings from PSU in this
his 1st year there. He would like to tell the
Hars that the Jäger is pouring like rain
(where have we heard that before) and a gentleman
never talks about his encounters with any of the
numerous hot chicks on campus. He will return
for the big Thanksgiving break. YO HARS!
KEISERBERGER
BACHELOR PARTY
Saturday
October 7, 2006 - The
male Hars all gathered at HQ beginning at 5pm
to help celebrate Harry's (Mike K.) last weeks
as a single man. The Hars pregamed for a bit then
headed up to Moriarty's in Center City. The group
of 16 had dinner then sung some karaoke. Around
1130 we headed back to A-town and hung out at
HQ for a while. We all sat around and told funny
stories (haha). As with any Harry event, we finished
the night out at Barnaby's where we hung out with
more Hars and the Barnabitches. Fun times as always.

SHOUT
OUT TO CASPER THE DOG
Saturday,
October 7, 2006 -
The Hars would like to give a get well wish to
Casper. Casper is Harry and Harriette's dog and
has kinda become the Hars pet too. Casper got
hurt at his dogsitters during the above bachelor
and bachelorette parties. He was trauma alerted
to the emergency vet on Market St. where he received
10 staples and some much needed sedation. He is
recuperating well at home and should be up for
a Yohar party by the weekend.
HBPC
MEETING GETS SURPRISE VISITORS
Saturday,
September 23, 2006 -
As the HBPC (Harry Banquet Planning
Committee) was meeting in Valley Twp., several
Hars and one ritalin deprived dog arrived. The
confidential meeting was quickly placed on hold
and the impromptu party began. The night ended
in the newly wired hot tub and the event ended
with breakfast in the morning compliments of Harriette
Graham. If this was a preview of the Harry Banquet
on 11/11/06, it's going to be a wonderful night.
All Hars should look out for their banquet invitations
this week. They MUST be returned by October 18th,
2006.
Lastly, a shout out to Harriette Keisenberger,
we hope you are feeling better soon!

HARRYS
RIDE NOW
Sunday
September 17, 2006 -
The Hars and Martys teamed up this
day for Ride Now to benefit Cure Autism Now. Ride
Now was a motorcycle ride from Ridley to Atlantic
City. Hars Joe and Kevin were part of the planning
committee while Becka, Matt, Danne, Ron, Sam and
Tom volunteered to assist on ride day. After registration,
Joe/Becka, Ron/Danne, Kevin/Sam and Matt hopped
on their hogs and made the ride down to AC. Tom
followed behind in his truck to help facilitate
a smooth ride which was smart because he was the
only one without a sunburn. Harry Balchunis also
mad a surprise appearance in AC. The Trump Casino
threw a great party on their beach bar. Sam and
Kevin also entered the wing eating contest and
went head to head with "El Wingador"
himself, neither of the hars had a prayer. It
was a great day and the hars helped raise over
$40,000 for CAN. The event is already in the works
for next year and these hars can't wait.
Any one of these photos could wind up as the

FIREFIGHTERS
WEEKEND IN WILDWOOD
Sat./Sun.
September 16th-17th, 2006 -
The
Hars headed to the Betzal Family beach house in
West Wildwood this weekend to celebrate the annual
firefighters convention. After the convention
and walking the boards, the real celebration began.

PSU/ND
- ICE LUGE AT THE 4-0 - BARNABY'S ENDING AT
HQ
Saturday
September 9, 2006 -
This day in history for the Hars
started at Uncle Franny's house in Crum Lynn for
the big PSU/ND football game party. Two kegs,
6 TVs, a pool, the Yo Har flag and plenty of delicious
food littered the backyard at this celebration.
As you know, the Fighting Irish prevailed. As
the game was underway, many Hars assembled at
the 4-0 to build the stand for the ice luge. After
the arrival of the 250 lb. block, the sculpting
began. More Hars arrived and watched the Phils
lose in extras to the Marlins. Once underway,
the ice luge was the hit of the party. Red rum
punch, blue rum punch and jäger made its
way through the luge throughout the night. "Yo
Har" echoes could be heard from Kingston
Terrace to Ridge Road and from a black and white
loud speaker on Dutton Mill Road. Since the Keisenbergers
had a wedding to attend on Sunday, this party
ended early at 2:00am. The Hars then made the
journey across A-Town to headquarters where the
Barnaby's crew met up with us and the festivities
continued. Beer pong, the vegetable game and card
games continued until 6:00am. It's soooooooo nice
to have such little responsibility in the Harry
life. Kick Ass times as always. GO EAGLES!

WHEELER BRINGS HOME AN EMMY
Saturday
September 9, 2006 -
A great big Yo Har shout out to
Harry (Andy) Wheeler for receiving top honors
for the best sports cast of the year. Harry (Andy)
is a sports producer for KYW Eyewitness News and
took home an Emmy tonight at the Mid-Atlantic
Emmy Awards. CONGRATULATIONS HAR, way to make
the rest of the Hars proud!
ALLAN'S
NEW AVATAR HAPPY HOUR
Friday
September 8, 2006 -
Allan hosted a happy hour Friday
evening and the Hars were in full force. Great
food, some karaoke, body shots, old friends and
fun times as always. Click on the
pic below for additional photos
Following
Happy Hour, several Hars headed back to Barnaby's.
We were forced to drink cool frosty beverages
because earlier bar patrons (Harry and Harriette)
drank all of their water (pronounced wood-er).

WHICH HARS ARE PREGNANT
September
2006 - Mary
and Bob are the proud new parents of Ava Madeline
Kenney, born on 8/23/06, Terry and Tony are due
in February 2007 and another Harry couple just
announced they are expecting in March. Who do
you think it is?
August
31st - September 4th, 2006 -
Hars Jack and Cousin Timmy headed
to Key West this weekend and spread the word about
the fun Har organization here in PA. The locals
and vacationers embraced the Harry mind set in
this laid back fun party town. From one side of
Duval Street to the other, the Hars had an excellent
time bar hopping meeting new Hars. Nicole and
Paul arrived home in central Jersey today and
have already started researching a new Harry Chapter
in their home town. Fun times with our new Har
friends. We just hope there were no surveillance
cameras in the hotel hallways. Shout outs go to
Nicole and Paul from Jersey, Matt, Ronan and Brent
from Orlando and Nature boy Cameron from Tampa.

NIGHT HARRYS HARD AT WORK
Monday,
September 4, 2006 -
In
the wee hours of Labor Day, a few Harry's were
hard at work protecting all the other Harrys.
An impromptu meeting occurred at Crozer's ER.
Pictured L-R are Harry, Harry and Harry (Vinnie,
George, Kevin). Not present at meeting due to
large amount of crime being prevented in Aston
was Harry (Mikell).
Special Note: The Harrys are holding place kicker
tryouts today and the winner will be flown to
South Bend to try out for the Irish.

JÄGERMEISTER
PAJAMA PARTY
Friday,
August 25, 2006 - Oh
my, where to begin.... Well, the 1st annual jägermeister
pajama party was held tonight at HQ. Let's just
say the Hars will be telling stories about this
night for many years to come. We were quite excited
to have a Russian Har join the gang tonight, only
to find out he was practicing a new accent. There
was some hot action on the back deck that we really
shouldn't mention on this site. The police were
summoned to Victoria Lane for "loud streakers
in the area". There must have been another
party going on in the development. A few Hars
had some quality bonding time in the bushes during
that investigation. Hars Cousin Timmy and Matt
took home the best pajama costumes prizes, Matt
in a diaper and Timmy in Aunt Linda's nighty.
The sub-headquarters peeps arrived with some type
of stomach flu that seemed to be quite contagious.
After hosing off the neighbors backyard and the
front street, those Hars made it home safely to
Newtown Square. A short time later, EMS 41 and
Medic 104-B were dispatched to a residence in
N.T. Square for an alcohol overdose. We are quite
certain it wasn't for Harry (Horse) as he left
most of his regurgitated jäger on Penns Court.
We are in the process of piecing together Harry
(Ken's) cell phone after he accidentally dropped
on the cement. This time, it may not be fixable.
In addition to these shenanigans, there were some
threesome attempts, toe jobs, beer pong, 1/2 naked
wrestling and FUN times by all HARS in attendance.
We'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
Everyone is looking forward to the 2nd annual
next August. Keep your fingers crossed that Har
(Jen W.) will find her precious jägermeister
pillow before then. Click on the pictures
below to see the rest of the pictures.
SUB-HEADQUARTERS
IN NYC
August 20, 2006 - The
sub-headquarters crew traveled to NYC this weekend
to meet the guys from FDNY 41. The Harry flag
was displayed prouder then a rainbow flag at Pride
Fest. Rumor has it, there is a video of Harry
(Posh) sliding down the fire pole in his birthday
suit. Fun times in NYC.
LEVEL
I SECURITY BREACH---UPDATED 8-22-06
Tuesday,
August 22, 2006 - The
security breach has been resolved. Evidently,
the Yo Bob's crew from Flashovers Tavern found
Froggy the frog pool wondering along Concord Rd.
and actually returned him home. It seems as though
Froggy and Scrappy the cat from next door were
out walking trying to keep up with all the Hars
playing tennis and walking at night over at Sun
Valley. So to all the guys at Flashovers, thanks
for taking good care of Froggy, we owe you a shot
of Jack, we mean Jager. We are looking forward
to the First annual "Yo Har vs Yo Bob Softball
challenge.on Sept. 9th.
HARS
IN THE HOOD
Saturday
August 19, 2006 - Many
Hars gathered at the almost open Harrys' One Spot
Pub tonight to feel it out for a potential Thursday
night hang out for the Hars. Harry Mylett was
in his glory tonight finally figuring out what
it means to be a Harry. Awesome, kick-ass fun
times was had by all the Hars. Thanks Adam and
Tracy for hosting. CLICK ON THE PICTURE

ITALIAN
NIGHT II & SPECIAL OPENING OF FLASHOVERS
TAVERN
Thursday,
August 3, 2006 -The Hars pre-gamed
at Riddle Hospital's Happy Hour at Kildare's Irish
Pub in Media. From there, the Hars moved it to
Ristorante Gennaro for dinner. Eleven hars scarffed
down din-din and enjoyed some wine to boot. Issues
discussed during dinner: Har ? Mylett's continual
failure to have a pool party, which Hars, if any,
will do YMCA at the Keiser wedding, whether or
not Matt will keep his clothes on at the upcoming
PJ party and finally, more discussion on the Mylett
pool party. After dinner, the group felt the need
for a night cap and headed on over to Flashovers
Tavern. Flashovers was gracious enough to
accommodate the Hars even though it wasn't the
regular night they are open. Everyone enjoyed
the Lite, and burgers by Harry (Pat). The trampoline
was also put to good use. The Hars really liked
the Flashovers house and are looking into making
it the new HQ. Don't worry Bobby, we think we
only pissed off 1 neighbor. All photos by
Assistant Chief Kenny Dawson as he was afraid
of the repercussions at the firehouse if he was
found in any of the pictures.

LONG
OVERDUE
Tuesday,
August 15, 2006 - HQ
is finally more officially HQ. The "Yo Har!"
flag is finally on display. It can either be displayed
on side 1 or side 3 (for those fire whackers).
The "Yo Har!" flag will also be installed
at Flashovers Tavern this week as well.
PHILS
/ REDS / TAILGATE
Sunday,
August 13, 2006 - The
Hars split crews this weekend with some going
to the run in SIC, sub-headquarters spent some
time in NYC and a small group headed to the Phils/Reds
game. The Reds prevailed in this extra inning
game but nonetheless, fun times were had by all.
Newest Harry John Tudo made his 1st official Harry
event and the Hars were able to recruit the A-Town
Tomlinson gals to become dues paying members.
And, we were mentioned on the scoreboard.
WELCOME TO THE HAR GROUP!

RUNS DOGS ON THE DUNE
Saturday, August 12, 2006 -
Hars Scott and Pat M. were present at St. James
H.S. Dogs
on the Dunetoday.
Pictured here on the left, they are drinking beers
and discussing the upcoming pool party at Harry
(Pat Mylett's) house.
Jack Carr, who is the father of many Hars, is
not in this picture but was present at this event.
Great job Scott planning this event and sending
Jack C. to get beers while you had the picture
taken.
HARS
GO RUNNING
Saturday,
August 12, 2006 - Today
was the 36th Annual Running of the Captain Gallagher
10 Mile Island Run and the Hars were there representing
Team Yo Har in the soon to be annual tradition.
As you know from reading the forums, several weeks
ago, four (4) Hars entered the race, Harry (John
Carr III), Harry (Brian Carr), his beautiful wife
Harriette (Maureen Carr) and Harry (Matt Carr).
The weekend started off by Harry (John) and Harriette
(Lynn) arriving in 08243 on Friday night along
with the little Hars. They prep’d the house
for the arrival of Hars Brian, Maureen, Matt,
Emma, Aidan, and B. Angus. Saturday morning the
flock of Hars began to arrive and the race talk
started. Plenty of carbs and other nutrition with
lunch: pasta, salad, salmon, tuna and Harriette
Lynn drinking a ice cold tribute beer to the runners.
The Hars followed that up with a brotherly competition
of horse shoes with a little AC/DC and Big and
Rich playing in the background to get us pumped.
Race time was near so everyone donned their Yo
Har race apparel and did their pre-race stretching.
Harry (Matt) did his pre-race 500 ml of Oxygen,
12 lead EKG, EEG, EMG, PQRST, etc. Race Time!
The babysitters arrived just in time, Hars Mikell,
Jen, Tom, Colleen, and Kevin along with Harriette
Lynn assumed control (or lack thereof) of the
little Hars and Team Yo Har headed off to the
start line (yes, we walked and RAN to the race
start, no car rides for us!). Soon enough our
legs were working hard. Throughout the race there
were constant “Yo Har!’s” from
the hundreds of spectators along the beach and
whenever any of us needed a pick-me-up, the crowd
always came through. Two Yo Har! flags were flying
high on the beach, one of which Harry (Matt) and
Harry (Brian) proudly carried with the respect
and admiration of an Olympic torch including Harry
(Brian’s) triumphant crossing of the finish
line, Yo Har flag raised towards the stars. We
never leave a Harry behind, everyone on team Yo
Har finished all ten miles of the run but no one
was a sore as Harry (Kevin) and Harry (MJ) who’s
one and one-half (maybe two) block run completely
overshadowed the 200 blocks the other four Hars
ran. In the end it was a great accomplishment
not only for the Hars running but also for everyone
on Yohar.com.
Special thanks to the babysitters and the Sea
Isle Crowd for all the support and cheers! story
by Matt Carr
Addendum: Matt left out one funny detail of the
run: one of his anonymous nephews asked his mother
as Matt went by 65th St.: "Why is Uncle Matt
walking?"
Week
of August 4, 2006 -
Several Harrys have been out and
about sporting their finest "Yo Har!"
garb around the US and overseas.
First, Harry (John C.) and the family took a vacation
to Vermont. The Carrs went to Lake Willoughby
in Northeast Vermont last week. While there they
visited Santa's Village amusement park in Jefferson,
NH, the Ben and Jerry's and Vermont Teddy Bear
factories, Stowe Mountain Resort, cruised on Lake
Champlain and squeezed in a visit to the Magic
Hat Brewery. Yum. The kids especially enjoyed
the brewery.
This
week, Harry (Scott M.) is in Prague. He is staying
in Prague, Czech Republic but decided to take
a little trip Sunday August 6 to a town called
Cesky Krumlov, which is on the Austrian border.
It was about a 3 hour trip from the capital city
of Prague. While proudly wearing his Yo Har t-shirt,
he managed to get a few pictures of himself taken.
The pic on the left is a picture of Harry on Horni
Street (ironic???). The one on the right is a
picture of Har in front of the Castle Tower and
the middle pic is Harry enjoying a dark pint at
the local brewery. Harry also reports that he
misses us terribly even though he is able to keep
up with the Hars on the forums. Poor John didn't
have internet and had very poor cell coverage.
He really missed the Hars.
PARTY
AT THE END OF THE HEAT WAVE 2006
Thursday,
August 3, 2006 -Not that we really
need an excuse to have a party but... in the Hars
book there is really no better way to enjoy the
last day of a heat wave than sitting on the back
deck at headquarters with the frog pool / fountain
in operation and the coolers filled with plenty
of cold brews (and twisted teas for the ladies).
One hundred degrees in the shade and most Hars
weren't feeling any pain. This party included
the normal Harry happenings (swimming, jäger
shots, natty ice etc) but also included some karaoke,
toe jobs, "test the new permanent marker
on Matt's skin" game
(compliments of Beth G.) and CPR practice on Harry
(John M.). Since Flashovers was closed for mailbox
repairs, the night ended at Barnaby's
of A-Town. Fun times as always Hars!
PARTY
AT THE END OF THE WORLD 2006
Tuesday,
August 1, 2006 - Jimmy
Buffett came to Philly to throw a party and
you know the Hars were invited! The tailgating
day began at about 11am in the already sun-baked
Campell's Field parking lot. Harry (Matt) took
things to a whole new level
this year with the construction of a full-size
tiki bar with the Yo Har! flag mounted and flying
a good 20 feet above the ground. Due to Harry
(Matt's) diverse connections, the early bird
tailgaters (Harrys Brian and Cake and Harriette
Emily) got to meet some Buffetnews.com
folks and made quick friends with our tailgating
neighbors Butch and Dave and their wives Duff
(Northeast Philly girls rule!) and Jen (North
Hampton, not so much...) Harry (Matt) also brought
his washer boards with new carpet tops which
provided hours of entertainment. As the sun
continued to warm the day with temperatures
approaching 100 degrees, we had the pleasure
of enjoying a cooling off courtesy of the fire
hose someone a few cars down hooked up to a
hydrant. As games of flip cup ensued, we made
some more friends with passersby, including
Steph, who didn't stay long enough for our liking.
The boatblenders and Banana Republics were flying
fast and furious and Mick the Pirate from Buffetnews.com
was a generous seafarer and provided the Hars
with a batch of Jello-shots. Harry and Harry
(Kevin and Justin) arrived around 4pm with much
needed supplies, including a fan-mister, a generator,
more beer, ice and, not to be forgotten, rehydration
supplies. Harry (Matt) was the first to rehydrate,
although I'm not sure drinking at the same time
is recommended by the AMA. More flip cup and
soon a new batch of Harrys (Scott, Beth, Jay,
Mark, Pauline and neighbors Dom and Pam) arrived
to liven up the party even more. By this time,
the beers and Twisted Teas were going down at
a rapid clip as we broke down the tailgate to
head into the show. Once inside, the Harrys
continued to represent by flying the Yo Har!
flag on the lawn. Matt disappeared shortly into
the show and did not come up for air until afterwards.
Jimmy was great as always with lots of shout
outs to the local Philly crowd. Harry (Kevin)
was happily buzzed and making lots of friends
with the ladies and handing out lots of high
fives and good games. Upon a quick trip to the
bar, Beth and Justin decided to knock back some
tequila shots. This prompted the very drunk
stranger wearing the "Sex Toy" painters
cap (yes, you read that right) to offer to buy
all the Hars a round of shots. Unfortunately,
Mr. Sex Toy only had $11 on him, so the Hars
got two shots out of the deal, both of which
Kevin drank (did I mention he was very happily
buzzed?) Back into the show for the final few
songs: One Particular Harbor, Fins and Scarlet
Begonias. A great ending to a great show. Lots
of fun had by all the Hars. Be sure to make
it out for next year's event - I believe Matt
will be building a full-scale replica of a pirate
ship for the tailgate...Fins Up to the Hars!
Story by Brian Carr
Friday,
July 28, 2006 - The
day started early for the Hars at HQ as many Hars
assembled around the frog pool for some r&r
at the pre-game celebration. Mother Nature tried
to spoil this outing but just as Harry (Scott)
predicted, the storm passed. Next, the Hars gathered
at Lenni Park for the 2nd softball game of the
summer. The Hars fielded two teams of nine and
once again the Hars prevailed. The night ended
in Brookhaven (at Harry’s house) where the
Hars christened the new McNeill pool. The neighbors
were previously unaware it was a clothing optional
pool but there was definitely at least one full
moon this night and Matt wasn't even there. FUN
TIMES with the Hars as expected.
It was nice to see some Hars join us that
normally are too busy playing the responsible
parent role i.e. - Sprows, The Cairy’s,
Bishop Francis O'Brien (We Are, Penn State!) and
Mrs. Betzal.
JOE
WALSH, et al, GO TO PUNTA CANTA
July
4-11, 2006 - It
may not count as an official Yo Har event, but
Joe Walsh, his much more beautiful girlfriend,
Harriette (Jen), and Ofc. Gary and his wife went
to Punta Conta a week a few weeks back but have
now just sent pics. They said they had fun, no
other details are available as the Executive Committee
still is mulling this one over.
THE
HARS DO IT UP 69 STYLE
Saturday,
July 22, 2006 - Harriette
(Kim F.) organized a 69 party with the Hars and
many other fun guys and gals from the area. The
event included beer, sandwiches and potato salad
compliments of Mrs. Harry Dawson (Ken's mom).
The sub-headquarters crew showed off their new
Old Navy iron-on "yohar.com" t-shirts
but they forgot to include Josh (previously described
as the Harry supporter in the green shirt but
is now an official Har, welcome Harry). Only a
few of the HQ crew were present for the event
but the sub-headquarters crew picked up the slack
at this bash (with the exception of the white
visor dude, who was he?). Good Luck to Harry (George)
as he heads out of town on 7/23 for a week long
project assisting with Habitat for Humanity. Fun
times with the Hars, thanks Har (Kim) for organizing
and congrats to 64-9, the sixty-nine beer pong
tournament champion of the evening.
ITALIAN
HARRYS
Thursday,
July 20, 2006 - A
bunch of Harry's had a delicious meal tonight
at Gennaro's Restaurant in Aston (where else).
Most Hars hung out till 11pm and then a few headed
to Barnaby's for guess what? - MORE DRINKING.
GREAT DINNER and FUN times with the Hars. Thanks
Pickles.
IMPROMPTU
GATHERING AT HQ ENDS AT FLASHOVERS
Wednesday,
July 19, 2006 -
Harry (Jack) announced to Harry (M.J.) that he
just purchased food so the idea came about to
open the pool at headquarters for another fun
Harry gathering. After posting the event on the
forums page, 17 Hars arrived for swimming, eating,
pool wrestling, body hair trimming, jäger
shots and fun times. At 2300 hrs. most of the
Hars headed to Flashovers
Tavern for
a surprise visit and more imbibing. The Bobs welcomed
the Hars with open arms, with the exception of
the attempted burning of a "Yo Har"
t-shirt before Harry (Jack) wrestled Bob (Bob)
to the ground to save the day and then the party
continued. After some more swimming, photo ops
with the Bobs and jumping on the trampoline; the
Hars headed home by 0200 hrs. Fun electrifying
times with the Hars and Bobs at HQ and FT.
Saturday,
July 15, 2006 - Hars
Mike and Sarah hosted their first ever party at
their new home in A-town. Mike was busy on the
grill (not too mention hitting the bottle) while
Sarah kept active giving tours of the new pad.
The food was great and its nice to know you guys
have a pool on either side of you. Special thanks
to Joe Walsh for keeping the night "electric."
Special appearances were made by Hars Bubba and
Queenie, good to see you guys. And as Jack always
says, fun times with the Hars!!
Whats so funny Mike?
2nd from left next to Wheels, its KISSEL!!!!!!
HARRY GATHERING IN THE SUB-HEADQUARTERS DISTRICT
Sunday,
July 9, 2006 - The
Hars from Station 41 held their annual picnic
today. Hars George, Todd, Tara and Eric decided
that like any decent ball field, a patriotic flag
should gallantly waived high and proud. Harry
(Todd) scaled the fence like he was 18 again and
going for a "late night swim" and proudly
hung the Yo Har flag. A non-Harry decided he was
going to move the flag (probably because it didn't
say "yo dork" in honor of himself) and
he was quickly de-pants by the Harry supporter
in the green shirt. The day went on with swimming,
more softball and goods eats. Unfortunately there
was no moo cow painting this time around. Then,
like the perfect ending to any Harry day, the
gang headed back to the sub-headquarters and enjoyed
a game of beer pong on the "41 House"
table.
MATT'S
SHORE ADVENTURES 2006
Friday,
June 30, 2006 - Harry
(Matt) has been down in Sea Isle now since Thursday
night, June 30th and all reports from camp have
been great. So far a total of 15 Hars have been
in and out of 24 65th and more troops are staging.
There have been at least 2 dozen inquires about
what "Yo Har" is, we have sold two shirts
to the guys next door and numerous random people
say Yo Har when they see one of us or walk by
the house. In other words, the flags are a giant
success! The first ever 65th Street Meet and Greet
was held on Monday, July 3rd with many neighbors
stopping by on their way back from the beach.
The Yo Har washers game is now operational, it
only took Harry, Harry, Harriette, and Harriette
2 hours to complete one game! Another new addition
to the Har Clan is the fully operational Jockey
Box which allows for a keg to get warm and then
rechilled through the use of a 70 foot refrigerator
coil. So far we've gone through a 1/4 keg of Lite
and we're working past the half way mark on a
1/2 keg of Coors Light. As always, the 4th of
July was a raging success. Long day on the beach
(starting before 9 am) followed by a successful
launch of STS-121, Discovery, the first ever launch
of a shuttle mission on the 4th!
After that, Hars Brian, Maureen, and the kids
showed up for a little BBQ and fireworks. The
fireworks compliments of the neighbors were
quite impressive and luckily everyone stayed safe
this year. Here's a big Harry shout out to Marisa
(pictures with Harry (Matt)) who checked out our
site then immediately came back to the beach and
said "who's Harry Matt?", the Hars next
door, Rich from Davidson Fabrication
across the street, and everyone else that stopped
by and will be checking out the site. Well, the
drill blender is calling my name so
peace up, A-town down from 08243!
THE
HARS REPRESENTED ON LADDER 41
Tuesday,
July 4, 2006 -
The Harry
sub-headquarters crew represented the Hars today
in the Newtown Square 4th of July parade. Harry
(Todd) led the Hars with the new "Harry March"
as Harry (George) made certain the Yo Har flag
could be seen by the millions of spectators on
hand for this 200th annual holiday parade. Fun
times as always. Photo's by Harriette (Tara).
HARRY
SUB-HEADQUARTERS IN N.T. SQUARE
Saturday,
July 1, 2006 - While
many Hars took to the Jersey Shore this weekend,
Hars George, Kenny and Jack were on the hunt for
a new sub-headquarters in Delco. As the Har group
continues to grow, the need was determined to
find alternate party house to help space things
out for us. Our 1st stop was at Harry Mylett's
house in Chi, but he said NO WAY HAR (?). Our
next stop found us in Newtown Square at the home
of the lead singer and driver of the winabego,
Todd "Wizzle" Welch. The Hars were impressed
that Todd and Tara took a time-out from playing
beer pong on the Newtown Square Fire Co. pong
table to hang the new Harry flag with pride and
joy. After many drinks, beer pong games, pizza
pies, painting moo cows and lighting fireworks;
the decision was an easy one for the Hars. We
now have a new sub-headquarters. Welcome newest
members of the Harry Organization Hars Todd, Tara
and Eric (aka Horse). Looking forward to seeing
you at the next Harry event.
Oh
jäger my Harry...... HUR-RUMFF
If
a Harry wants to hump his dog when a Harry gets
home
from a Harry party, other Harry's shouldn't
judge.
1ST
ANNUAL HARRY SOFTBALL GAME
Friday,
June 30, 2006 - Harry
(Scott McNeill) organized the first ever "Yo
Har!" softball game. The game was held at
Lenni Park with about 20 Hars in attendance (although
not all played). Teams of 5 on 5 with a "steady
pitcher" (no sexual implication meant) had
a very fun 5 inning game. When all was said and
done, the Harrys defeated the Harrys, 14-12. Following
the game, Harry (Scott M.) hosted a BBQ at his
Brookhaven residence (see Jen W., we do travel
out of Aston periodically). Thanks to everyone
for coming out and playing or cheering the Hars
on.
HARRY
GRADUATION
Saturday,
June 17, 2006 - Harry
(Matt) has finally graduated from Drexel Univ.
with a Bachelor of Information Services. When
Harry's name was called, a emphatic "Yo Har!"
could be heard from the audience as Harry gave
Univ. President Constantine Popodakis a great
big Yohar hug.
HARRY
FUZZY BALLS
Monday,
June 19, 2006 - A
new Harry event has been started. A few Harrys
have taken up tennis. The first match was held
(in between rain drops) at the Ballinahinch tennis
area behind Barnaby's with Allan (with 2 Ls),
Pickles, MJ, Jen and Kevin partaking. This is
becoming a weekly event so stay tuned to the forums
for the weekly dates/times.
PHILS,
PICKLES PLACE AND BARNABY'S
Saturday,
June 17, 2006 - The
day started off with Harry (Matt) Carr graduating
from Drexel. The president of the University was
surprised / happy when he received a Harry hug
from Harry (Matt) and the other graduates just
did the boring ol' handshake. Perhaps he will
receive a "good game" slap in the butt
when Harry receives his doctorate degree. The
Hars then traveled to CBP and met up with the
St. James tailgate of 500 people, including the
"yo guys". After the expected Phils
loss to one of the worse teams in the league,
the Hars headed back to Aston to meet up with
Pickles' party crowd. Next, a few keg stands,
games of flip cup and dip in the neighbors hot
tub later.... it was off to Barnaby's till closing.
FUN TIMES as expected Hars.
SOFTBALL
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME LOSS - PARTY
Friday,
June 16, 2006 - Several
Hars gathered at HQ tonight after Hars (Kevin,
Matt, Ang and Jen's) softball game. They lost
in the championship game to Barnaby's so we figured
it was time to celebrate. Good times.... FULL
GROUP PIC STILL NEEDED
PHILS
AND ITALIAN FEST
Thursday
June 15, 2006 - Today
the Hars headed to the Phils BPS Vs. the Mets.
The tailgate included a Phillies style beer pong
table (compliments of Katie and Tara) and the
baseball game included a Phillies style loss (compliments
of the Phillies pitchers). Afterwards, the crowd
met up with more Hars and drove to the St. Anthony's
Italian Festival in Wilmington. Fun times as always.
Hars (Jack,
George and Kevin) along with our friends Katie
and Tara
St. Anthony's
Fair crew (minus the John Carr family)
ANOTHER
HARRY WEEKEND IN SIC
Saturday-Sunday,
June 10-11, 2006 - Another
weekend and another Harry trip to the shore. The
theme of this weekend was "Cocktails and
Professionals" as we had 3 computer nerds,
a nurse, a school teacher, a soil engineer, a
physician's assistant, and two mercenaries for
hire. Hars Mark, Pauline, Ken, Julia, Mike, Sarah,
Josh, Ryan, and Matt all made the trip down for
the weekend. Still a little windy and chilly but
windy is the perfect weather for a Harry flag.
Both the house flag and the beach flag made their
debuts this weekend. Many curious people of course
asked what it was. I directed them to our web
site. Many caught on very quickly. Here's a shout
out to the neighbors across the street who regularly
gave a Yo Har when someone walked out of the house.
Some guys on the beach where also overhead giving
each other Yo Hars as well. Since Julia is new
to our group we learned some things about her:
She is not nearly as shy when around small groups
of Hars, she follows house rules well but not
drinking Jenga rules, she very much likes "good
games", and as long as the meat is rare,
she make sure it all gets eaten. All in all, it
was a great weekend.
