opened at Wheeler's house where many Hars gathered
to beat the heat. After the swim, it was time
to go to Rose Tree Park to see the Journey Tribute

July
4, 2008- The Hars were out and about
all day for this 4th of July celebrating our nation's
independence. Hars were seen at various BBQs at
the Stinson Residence and the Jones Residence.
The evening saw the Hars walk to Sta. 63-Green
Ridge Fire Co. for the annual fireworks display
put on by Aston Twp. The 30 min fireworks show
was able to get going despite the steady rain
we had. The show was awesome as usual, thanks
for Aston for putting on another great show. The
Hars then headed back over to the Jones' for more
fun along. Thanks to all of the various fire companies
who were on hand at 63 to keep us safe most of
all to ABFC and GRFC, our hometown fire companies.

HARRY PROMOTED
July,
2008- With Rocky's sudden passing
away, it left a huge void at Aston-Beechwood.
One of those willing to step up to the plate
to help fill that void was our very own Harry
(Mike K.). Harry was promoted to 2nd Assistant
Chief this week. He is shown in the picture
showing off his brand new white helmet. Well
actually, Jack's white helmet, 1) because Jack
never uses it and 2) Mike's new helmet is still
on order.
Congratulations
Harry!!!!

turned out for a Beef N Beer to help raise much
needed funds for Harriette's (Katie) friend

tough battle with cancer right now and her husband's
family and friends put this benefit together.
The event was at St. Dominic Parish's Marian
Hall in NE Philly. The Hars don't like to leave
Aston but we did for this great cause. Harry
(Raymond) was kind enough to bring his guitar
and played some live music for about an hour
and rocked the crowd. Thanks to all the Hars

$5000 for Mare.

at Barnaby’s Aston for the St. James High
School Alumni Association’s annual winter
reunion known as "Who Let The Dogs Out".

local 8th graders who wish to attend an Archdiocesan
High School. Since St. James closed in 1993,
The Alumni association has donated more than
$300,000 to local teens to attend Catholic High
Schools. Thank you Hars for you constant support!
Later in the evening the Hars attended another
fundraiser, that story to be posted soon by
Kevin Carr (when he has time) on this day that
shows the Hars true generosity!!

said Valerie as the Hars watched the Giants upset
the Packers. "You guys are so much fun, I
am glad to have you in my life" she exclaimed.
Although the football scores ended up being an
upset, Valerie was the highlight of the day, she

NEW
YORK CITY - HERE WE ARE
January
4th - 6th, 2008- Harry's Sam,
Mikell, Jen, Jack, and Phillip headed up to
New York for the weekend and had an awesome
time!!! Harriette Sam's boss has an apartment
right in front of Central Park and was very
nice to let us stay in it. We had an adventurous
train ride there and everyone loved the Hars.
While on the train we made it entertaining by
playing "Are You Smarter Then a 3rd 4th
and 5th Grader?" and we had people join
in with us to play. It took us five trains to
get there but we finally did. However poor Har
Phillip left his luggage on the train which
was not good because it had his iPod in it.
That did not stop the fun at all though; we
made sure everyone still had a great time. All
of us were very hungry so we found this "hole
in the wall" pizza shop called Bella Vito's
and we all thought it was the best pizza shop
ever!! We made some friends and had a few beers.
Then of course Har Jack did the "deek"
on us which was a big mistake because the pizza
shop owner took us out to do karaoke and stayed
there until 4 in the morning. We later brought
one of our new friends (Michelle) home to wake
up Jack. Saturday we all woke up and went to
Time's Square and were being quite the tourists.
We went to dinner at Vento's where Har Michele's
brother is the manager. It was amazing and we
thank him very much for such a great dinner!!!
Then we headed off to a bar called Latitude
and then one called Social till 4am. We made
a lot of new friends while we were there and
I am sure they will all be checking out the
website!!! CLICK ON THE PICTURES
ABOVE FOR MORE PICTURES.

December
31, 2007- January 1, 2008 - A dozen
Hars headed up to Brittingham’s Irish Pub
to catch the Hars favorite Irish Band, Paddy’s
Well. A good time was had by all and there were
many Yo Har shout-outs for the members of Paddy’s
Well. I think some of the older folks thought
they were nuts but by nights end Paul and the
band had EVERYONE in the place shouting YO HAR!
It was pretty comical.
Other Hars celebrated New Years Eve at Barnaby's,
local parties and a couple of them went to the
city. Happy New Year to all the Hars, friends
and family of the Hars.

dad, Rick Maly, is recovering at home in Cincinnati

accidental injuries on an annual basis than
Tim the Tool Man Taylor. Rick had his follow-up
